Job Responsibilities:
- Lead and build an immunology research team focused on cutting-edge target discovery, from nomination and validation to advancing pipeline development.
- Stay at the forefront of emerging trends and innovations in autoimmune and inflammatory diseases by actively participating in conferences and seminars, and translating insights into pipeline projects.
- Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of immunology researchers, overseeing recruitment, budgeting, goal-setting, and fostering independent, productive work that drives pipeline progression and intellectual property creation (e.g., patents).
- Establish and maintain strong collaborations with cross-functional teams globally, ensuring effective communication and resource utilization across platforms.
- Oversee the team’s daily operations and create a collaborative, open research environment, contributing to broader research efforts through meetings, competitive intelligence, and joint projects.
Qualifications:
- PhD in Immunology with at least 3 years of relevant industry experience.
- Demonstrated success in leading early-stage drug discovery programs, from target identification to IND-enabling studies.
- In-depth knowledge of immunology, particularly in autoimmune and inflammatory disease areas.
- Strong scientific expertise, with proven experience in experimental design and data interpretation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with teams across different disciplines and organizational levels.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and promoting a culture of collaboration, innovation, and scientific rigor.
- Proven track record in generating intellectual property, including patents and peer-reviewed publications.
