My client, a subsidiary of a privately held, global medical communications agency, is seeking a sharp and experienced Scientific Director to join their growing medical team and spearhead an exciting portfolio. This agency covers every vertical of Medical Communications - Commercial, Medical Affairs, Publications and Regulatory - and works across a number of high-science therapeutic categories for their robust roster of leading pharmaceutical companies and emerging biotech's!

Job Description:

  • Design, develop and reviews a variety of deliverables, including but not limited to: slide decks, video scripts, website copy, congress materials, sales training materials, and GAP analyses
  • Ensure all deliverables are scientifically accurate, fully referenced, appropriate to the target audience, and consistently meet the highest quality standards
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge across assigned therapy areas whilst keeping up-to-date on industry trends and scientific developments
  • Leads and drives the delivery of larger medical conference and meeting events, including: KOL developed & endorsed, education materials, KOL development & engagement, Advisory boards, Symposia & standalone meetings, Delphi consensus, Patient education, E-learning and digital education, Strategic communications.
  • Leads client meetings when appropriate, updating both the team and client on key scientific actions
  • Builds strong client relationships - Starts to help shape client strategy, recommending new projects or advising when taking a different approach may better meet client objectives
  • Manages direct reports effectively by providing constructive and actionable feedback, ultimately nurturing their professional growth

 

Skills Required:

  • A higher education degree - PhD, MD, PharmD - required
  • A minimum of 6 years' experience working within Medical Communications
  • Excellent scientific and editorial competency
  • Experience working within the Rare Disease, Cardiology, Neurology, Hematology and or Oncology
  • Strong relationship building and strengthening skills, with both clients and HCPs
  • Ability to critically review deliverables for scientific accuracy and integrity
  • Experience of coaching and mentoring junior level writers
