Our client is seeking a Scientific Director to play a key role in their Scientific Services leadership team. This expert brings broad knowledge across therapeutic areas and a desire to expand expertise into new fields. The Director excels at translating complex scientific information into clear, impactful communications. They lead scientific strategy for client accounts, overseeing content development and providing editorial support. Strong management skills are essential for guiding their team, ensuring quality standards, and implementing best practices.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead complex projects across various teams and therapeutic areas.
  • Act as the scientific lead on assigned accounts, offering guidance internally and externally.
  • Communicate updates on products, medical/regulatory milestones, and industry trends.
  • Ensure deliverables align with client goals and objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong client and medical expert relationships.
  • Ensure high-quality, client-ready deliverables across a range of projects.
  • Simplify complex scientific data for different audiences, adjusting language accordingly.
  • Oversee content development to uphold scientific excellence.
  • Lead client workshops and discussions with healthcare professionals.
  • Continuously offer fresh ideas and forward-thinking strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Client Services lead on project execution, planning, and resource management.
  • Assist in financial management, including forecasting and budgeting.
  • Support new business development, both with existing clients and new prospects.
  • Coach, mentor, and provide feedback for team development.
  • Manage team performance and foster the growth of junior writers.
 

Required Qualifications:

  • Advanced doctoral-level degree in a scientific discipline.
  • Proven experience in the medical communications industry.
  • Expertise in managing complex projects.
  • Ability to coach and guide clients.
  • Excellent presentation skills and composure under pressure.
  • Strong scientific writing skills across multiple therapeutic areas and audiences.
  • In-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical industry standards and compliance.
