Electra Therapeutics, Inc. based in South San Francisco, California, is a clinical stage biotechnology company developing therapies that target signal regulatory proteins (SIRP) for the treatment of immunological diseases and cancer.
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Research Associate to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a key role in conducting in vitro studies, supporting our immunology research efforts. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform in vitro studies involving cell culture techniques, including primary cells and cell lines.
- Design, execute, and analyze in vitro assays with human lymphocytes and immune cells.
- Conduct multicolor flow cytometry experiments, ensuring high-quality data acquisition and analysis.
- Perform ELISA assays for biomarker and protein quantification.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date laboratory notebooks, ensuring reproducibility and compliance with company standards.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to support ongoing research projects.
- Analyze experimental data, troubleshoot technical issues, and contribute to scientific discussions.
- Write study reports and contribute to Investigational New Drug (IND) filings.
- Maintain a high standard of laboratory organization and documentation.
- Stay current with emerging scientific literature and advancements in immunology research.
- Applicant is expected to be onsite 5 days a week
Education & Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Immunology, or a related field with at least 5 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
- Hands-on experience with cell culture techniques, including both primary cells and cell lines.
- Strong expertise in in vitro assays with human lymphocytes or immune cells.
- Proficiency in multicolor flow cytometry and associated data analysis.
- Experience conducting ELISA assays.
- Working knowledge of plate-based cellular assays and data analysis using software tools such as FlowJo, GraphPad Prism, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to maintain meticulous laboratory records.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with Octet or MSD platforms.
- Knowledge of whole blood assays and pharmacokinetic (PK) assays.
- Familiarity with assay development and optimization.
- Strong ability to troubleshoot experiments and contribute to process improvements.

The salary range for this position is $95,000 - $120,000. Base salary compensation is determined by a range of factors, including but not limited to candidate experience, qualifications, location and more.
