Our client is a pioneering biopharmaceutical company specialising in targeted nanomedicine solutions for unmet medical needs such as atherosclerosis and glioma. With a strong scientific team, state-of-the-art R&D facilities, and a focus on innovative drug delivery platforms, they are positioned to develop and commercialise first-in-class therapies. The Vice President of Business Development will play a critical role in growing the company’s portfolio through strategic partnerships, licensing, and alliances, helping to bring transformative treatments to market.

Role Summary:
You will lead the development and execution of business strategies aimed at expanding the company’s technology and product footprint. Working closely with the executive team, you will identify high-value partnership opportunities, negotiate licensing deals, and drive the company’s growth in the global biopharmaceutical landscape. This on-site role offers the chance to influence company direction directly and collaborate across functional teams to support innovative drug development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and lead the Business & Corporate Development function, focusing on licensing, partnerships, and revenue growth.
  • Develop and refine strategic plans in collaboration with senior leadership to identify new market opportunities and optimize deal pipelines.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with potential partners, including biotech and pharmaceutical companies, research institutions, and other stakeholders.
  • Evaluate and execute complex licensing-out agreements, ensuring alignment with scientific and commercial objectives.
  • Oversee deal negotiations, including financial modelling, deal structuring, and due diligence processes.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Legal, Finance, and Tech Operations teams to support and execute partnership transactions.

Experience & Requirements:

  • Advanced degree in life sciences, business, or a related field (e.g., MD, PhD, MBA).
  • At least 10 years of business development experience within biotech or pharma, with a successful track record in licensing-out technologies or products.
  • Deep understanding of the drug development lifecycle, especially in cardiovascular or related therapeutic areas.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven leadership and organizational ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • High integrity, adaptability, and a passion for innovation.
