We’re representing a global medical communications agency known for its creativity, scientific excellence, and people-first culture. As they continue to grow and evolve, they’re seeking a Vice President, Scientific Services, a hands-on, strategic leader to join their senior leadership team and guide the next stage of their scientific vision and delivery excellence.

This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned med comms professional who blends scientific depth, operational savvy, and team mentorship with strategic and commercial impact.

The Role:
As VP, Scientific Services, you’ll lead and inspire a talented scientific writing and strategy team across global accounts spanning a variety of therapy areas. You’ll shape client strategy, drive scientific excellence, and play a key role in business growth and operational leadership.

Key responsibilities:

  • Serve as a key member of the senior leadership team, helping shape business strategy and company culture
  • Lead and mentor Scientific Directors and senior writing staff, fostering excellence, collaboration, and professional growth
  • Oversee content strategy and delivery across multiple global accounts, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and creativity
  • Partner with Client Services leadership to drive scientific strategy, staffing, and resourcing
  • Play a hands-on role with clients, leading discussions, facilitating workshops, and providing scientific and strategic counsel
  • Support financial management, resource planning, and account forecasting
  • Champion innovation in content delivery, scientific storytelling, and digital engagement
  • Lead scientific input on pitches and contribute to organic and new business growth
About You:
  • Advanced scientific degree (PhD, PharmD, MD, or equivalent preferred)
  • 12+ years’ experience in medical communications with proven success leading high-performing teams
  • Expertise in peer-to-peer medical education, promotional med comms, and scientific strategy
  • Deep understanding of pharma industry regulations, MLR processes, and scientific integrity
  • Strategic thinker and confident communicator,  able to challenge, guide, and inspire both teams and clients
  • Collaborative leadership style with a people-first mindset and a “roll-up-your-sleeves” approach
  • Proven experience managing budgets, resources, and timelines while delivering top-quality work
