The opportunity (Role summary)

As an Associate Director or Director in Protein Sciences and CMC, you will oversee critical aspects of protein formulation development and manufacturing processes. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including R&D, manufacturing, and quality assurance, providing strategic leadership and scientific expertise throughout the product lifecycle. This on-site role offers the chance to play a pivotal role in advancing scientifically complex projects while fostering your professional growth.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the development and optimisation of protein-based formulations, ensuring regulatory compliance and quality standards.
  • Manage and mentor technical teams, driving scientific excellence and operational efficiency.
  • Partner with manufacturing, quality, and regulatory teams to support product lifecycle activities, from early development through commercial production.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, implementing innovative solutions to enhance process robustness and scalability.
  • Deliver technical expertise during audits, inspections, and regulatory submissions to support compliance and product approval.
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams and external partners to meet project milestones and strategic objectives.

What you’ll bring

  • Significant experience in protein development, formulation, and CMC within the biotech or pharma sector.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements related to biologics and CMC activities.
  • Proficiency with relevant laboratory techniques and process development tools.
  • Ability to communicate complex scientific concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in a relevant scientific discipline.

Compensation & benefits

This role offers a minimum salary of $185,000, with additional compensation details shared during the process.
