VP / SVP, Biology & Translational Sciences
Location: Remote (U.S.-based) with monthly travel to Los Angeles

We are partnering with a small, well-funded biotechnology company dedicated to developing transformative treatments for patients living with neurological diseases. With a growing pipeline of small molecule programs and key clinical milestones ahead, the company is seeking a strategic and hands-on VP or SVP of Biology & Translational Sciences to lead scientific direction across discovery, translational strategy, and early development.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead biology and translational strategy across a portfolio of small molecule neuroscience programs from discovery through development.
- Provide scientific leadership for IND-enabling activities, regulatory strategy, and advancement of assets into the clinic.
- Partner cross-functionally with chemistry, clinical development, regulatory, and executive leadership to drive program execution.
- Apply translational insights, biomarkers, and disease biology to support decision-making and de-risk programs.
- Build, mentor, and scale high-performing internal and external scientific teams.
- Serve as a key contributor to portfolio strategy, corporate planning, and investor-facing scientific communications.
- Support NDA-stage programs and contribute expertise related to late-stage development and filings.
Qualifications
- PhD in Biology, Neuroscience, Pharmacology, or related scientific discipline.
- 15+ years of biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry experience with progressive leadership responsibility.
- Deep expertise in small molecule drug development, ideally within CNS / neurology indications.
- Proven experience advancing programs through IND and NDA processes, with direct involvement in regulatory submissions.
- Demonstrated track record supporting programs that have successfully progressed to NDA filing and/or approval.
- Strong background in translational sciences, pharmacology, and mechanism-driven development strategies.
- Prior success building, leading, and mentoring multidisciplinary teams.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, resource-efficient biotech environment.
- Willingness to travel to Los Angeles monthly.
